Job Description:
• Identify and execute on a tax strategy for the Strategic Business Unit including but not limited to tax legislation monitoring and mitigation tactics, operational and transaction based tax optimization and tax risk minimization in all business activities • Maintain a current awareness of tax legislation and jurisprudence that could impact operations and establish proactive plans accordingly for both cash and financial tax reporting purposes • Develop and oversee implementation of tax efficient structures to support new investments , divestitures and internal reorganizations; activities include recommendations related to funding alternatives and tax accounting implications • Work closely with other finance areas to create or maximize tax efficient cash repatriation channels • Manage Compliance/Controversy • Oversee all tax compliance activities, including ongoing evaluation of tax positions and application of tax law changes • Manage application of local law and tax compliance for related party transactions andtransfer pricing risks • Actively participate in the development and execution of defense strategies concerning tax controversies • Oversee tax accounting activities for local and US GAAP reporting; ensure the appropriate capabilities are in place to independently support accounting for income taxes (including deferred tax reconciliation, effective tax rate determination, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowance considerations and impacts of tax law changes) and manage internal controls over such activities; • Actively participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes providing support and approval on the expected effective tax rate, tax risks and opportunities • Build and maintain strong relationship with key internal and external stakeholders • Lead, motivate and develop tax teams working in the businesses, ensuring professional growth opportunities are identified and supported; provide performance feedback through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback. • Clearly establish and communicate shorter term priorities and objectives for MCA&C tax • Maintain appropriate metrics to assess performance of tax activities to measure and drive shareholder value • Ensure implementation of plans and risks associated with meeting financial tax targets and communicate progress with CFO and VP, Tax
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • Minimum of 8 years of relevant tax experience in either a Big 4 public accounting firm or multi-jurisdictional corporate tax group including three years in tax leadership roles • Experience working with Dominican, Mexican, Panamanian, and El Salvador taxation • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills • Strong computer skills • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated • Strong organizational skills • High degree of professionalism • English and Spanish language capabilities required
Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced degree is preferred (i.e. Master Degree)
