JOB DESCRIPTIONHere is a global $300-400M business focused on current and future essentials for commercial, industrial, and residential needs. Company is profitable, expanding, private equity infused, proactive, empowering, and innovative. Business is committed to quality of products and services, growth (organic & acquisitions), and attaining #1 market share. B&B has been retained to complete this search as soon as possible. New role in Connecticut due to carve out of existing worldwide operations from a global corporation. Current business footprint includes multiple R&D, engineering, manufacturing facilities, and sales/service offices in Americas, Asia, and Europe. Role will report to CFO and partner across entire executive team. This is a hands-on leadership role (no direct reports to start) responsible for tax compliance and planning on a worldwide basis. Key is a self-starter with the ability to look for opportunities to improve current tax processes and to reduce tax exposures. Be responsible for ongoing tax compliance and planning, including domestic taxes, global tax provision, transfer pricing oversight, state and local taxes, as well as other special projects. Key responsibilities include the following: • Provide leadership and oversight over all tax matters in the company worldwide. • Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures and controls worldwide to protect assets and comply with tax laws • Prepare federal, state and international tax compliance and FAS 109 provision. • Direct and monitor compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to tax reporting. • Work with senior finance management and tax advisors related to international structuring, transfer pricing and VAT. • Ensure appropriate documentation for all key tax positions. • Communicate complicated tax issues in terms of impact on business operations and financial reporting. • Provide active support to senior management on strategic decision-making (e.g. licensing collaborations, acquisitions) • Direct and monitor tax audits and uncertain tax positions. • Direct external communications with tax advisors including tax counsel, external auditor, federal, state and other tax policy decision-makers and enforcement officials.
BS Accounting; CPA or MS Taxation a plus. Minimum 8+ years federal, state, and international corporate tax knowledge and experiences, with exposure to tax planning strategies for US multinational organizations. Knowledgeable in transfer pricing practices and documentation requirements. Working knowledge and understanding of the U.S. federal research and experimentation tax credit. Ability to proactively recognize tax issues, evaluate risk, and recommend solutions. Strong computer skills. Good oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with other departments as a team player. Possess an attention to detail and accuracy, with an ability to handle multiple assignments and work independently for periods of time. Must be capable of travelling 10%.
