Job Description:
Under limited supervision, prepares reports, reconciles, analyzes information, providing oversight and taking a lead in monitoring, reporting and ensuring compliance with the International intercompany service agreements and internal retrocession agreements. Analyzes monthly and quarterly International financial results on a US GAAP basis, creates management reports and provides support, training and reporting to the International offices. Reconciles general ledger accounts and resolves any discrepancies, performs uploads into the general ledger (PeopleSoft) and data warehouse, wire requests and other duties as assigned. : Performs month-end financial reporting functions as assigned within International Finance. This includes creating PeopleSoft, data warehouse financial reports and MS Excel financial reports, analyzing data, preparing general ledger uploads and reconciling various general ledger accounts, including intercompany, suspense, various other balance sheet and expense accounts. : Prepares fee accrual entries, applies cash payments, completes intercompany retrocession settlements, and prepares financial reports for International non-traditional treaties. : Coordinates, monitors and reports on the International offices intercompany service agreements and internal retrocession agreements. Ensures that International intercompany service agreements and internal retrocession agreements are in compliance with requirements, are administered properly and are timely settled. : Prepares entries for non-commission DAC for the International offices. Ensures that the appropriate amounts of general expenses are capitalized and that capitalized balances are appropriately amortized each period. : Prepares monthly and quarterly local international regulatory and management reporting for RGA International Re while ensuring timeliness and accuracy in reporting. Also prepares cash disbursement requests for assigned international legal entities. : Prepare all monthly and quarterly entries for RGA Int'l Re : Prepare all reports and filings for RGA Int'l Re, surveys, filings, management reports, branch tax return preparation : Prepares quarterly and annual GAAP, regulatory and management reporting for RGA Global Reinsurance Company, while ensuring timeliness and accuracy in reporting. : Prepares wire transfer disbursement requests for various International office disbursements. : Reviews and performs updates to SOX process documents as needed. : Assists with the updating of various reports for financial reporting purposes and addresses financial reporting related questions raised by personnel within the International operations. : Serves as liaison with associates in International offices, Corporate Finance and Corporate Service Providers. : Works with other functional areas in RGA Re to achieve efficient and effective accounting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries. : Coordinates and completes special projects, appropriately balancing priorities and deliverables. : Maintains regular and predictable attendance. : Performs other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: Required: : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience : 8+ years financial accounting or auditing experience with GAAP experience : Basic Word, strong Excel, and basic SQL/Query skills : Advanced oral and written communication and organization skills : Must be flexible and adaptive to change : Takes initiative and is accountable : Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables. : Complex investigative, analytical and problem solving skills : Ability to share and impart knowledge : Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives : Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance and general ledger applications : Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines : Ability to work well with all levels of management : Ability to work independently : Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects.
Preferred Qualifications: : Master's Degree, CPA : Progress towards FLMI : PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience : Insurance/Reinsurance financial reporting experience
