| State Tax Planning & Compliance Main Function · Manage the state and local income/franchise tax compliance process. Main Duties · Review of significant federal and state & local income and non-income tax filings. · Prepare various tax analysis including state allocation factors and quarterly tax projections. · Review monthly/quarterly sales use tax filings and personal property tax returns. · Identification of reporting requirements and implementation of best practices around compliance. · Tax risk assessment and mitigation including development of structural assessment plan. · Review state tax provision/state tax true-ups and calculate adequacy of FIN 48 reserve. · Establishment of tax compliance reporting system and development of compliance reporting efficiencies. · Involvement in issues related to nexus resulting from physical and financial trading of energy commodities. · Analysis of state tax sourcing of receipts to develop filing methodologies for various jurisdictions. · Awareness of compliance risks outside of financial industry’s traditional tax obligations. · Familiarity with systems support software that handles activity reporting. · Work closely with Head of State Tax and State Tax Counsel in analyzing tax efficient structures. · Assist in Federal and State audit examinations and monitor RAR adjustments for state tax impact. · Analyze potential federal and state tax incentives and credits in order to maintain low ETR. · Manage subordinates. |

| BS or BBA in Accounting · Eight years of multi-state tax experience · Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player · Extremely well organized and detail oriented · Ability to work under pressure to meet stringent deadlines · Able to handle multiple assignments concurrently · Proficient in Microsoft applications - CPA/MBA preferred |
