Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity backed Consumer Products company whose revenues exceed $300 million annually. We have a long-standing relationship with their Controller and the company has engaged us to find an analytical, detailed Cost Accounting Manager. Their environment is fast-paced, but also collaborative and casual. This is a new role that is open due to the company's growth.
JOB DESCRIPTION• Driving process improvement by crafting new procedures for calculating and maintaining standard costs for overhead cost components (freight, duties, and royalties). Validate accuracy of factory costs and bill of materials. • Making product costing decisions independently, as it relates to item and/or bills of material set up and standard cost updates, without regular supervision while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Leading cross-functional team meetings to address cost accounting processes and changes • Serving as financial representative and advisor on strategic cost savings initiatives within operations. • Enforcing discipline amongst product development teams to ensure product cost analyses are current and accurate. • Performing month-end close activities such as analyzing actual costs and variance reporting against standard costs. Also, manage reconciliation of perpetual inventory to GL account balances. • Providing financial and margin analyses to support business decisions (e.g. pricing decisions). • Assist with development of quarterly sales forecasts for licensors, with input from product development, sales, and licensing teams. • Support cross-functional (product development, sales, accounting/finance, etc.) ad-hoc financial projects as required.
• BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting • 7 or more years of experience in cost accounting • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookup tables, pivot tables, etc.) • Strong attention to detail • Experience with Navision software is a plus
