Manager of Accounting Policy & Research needed for Tampa firm. There would be some relocation expense offered for strong candidates, especially with a financial services background.


  •          The Manager of Accounting Policy & Research is responsible for assessing the accounting and financial reporting impact of significant and unusual transactions and complex accounting matters
  •          Perform research and provide technical accounting support to business units
  •          Perform technical accounting analysis and determine appropriate accounting and disclosure treatment; prepare supporting memorandum to document and support technical accounting conclusions
  •          Work closely with cross functional teams (FP&A, corporate development, IR, etc. to ensure accounting conclusions are properly considered across all disciplines
  •          Monitor and communicate relevant information regarding emerging standards and assisting with implementing new standards
  •          Participate in the development of corporate-wide accounting policies and standardized methodologies related to complex accounting matters and ensure their consistent application
  •          Evaluate operational accounting integration risks and required process changes related to significant transactions and accounting policy matters
  •          Coordinate with external auditors
  •          Develop and deliver executive communications
  •          Support change management initiatives



  •          The Manager of Accounting Policy & Research will have a college degree with major in accounting, business administration or equivalent training
  •          CPA required with five to seven years of Big-four public accounting/consulting firm experience or equivalent corporate internal consulting experience
  •          Demonstrated technical accounting strength; thorough knowledge of US GAAP and internal accounting controls; and, demonstrated complex problem solving and analytical abilities
  •          Strong oral and written communication skills; experienced in writing technical position memos and delivering executive-level communications
  •          Strong organizational and project management skills; experience with large-scale project management
  •          Demonstrated operational view and ability to develop leverageable tools and processes
  •          Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships; experience working with cross-functional and multi-disciplined teams
  •          Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted timelines
  •          Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment with minimal supervision; self-starter
  •          Ability to meet strict deadlines
  •          Financial Services experience a plus
  •          Proficient with Microsoft Office products and other relevant technical applications
