JOB DESCRIPTIONBased in St. Louis, MO, Servicing Portfolio Management (SPM) is responsible for the systems and processes that profile the valuation of mortgage servicing rights (MSR). The MSR asset represents approximately 9 million customers with an outstanding principal balance exceeding $1.4 trillion, valued at $15 Billion as of the latest quarterly earnings release. This position will perform complex activities for evaluating conceptual soundness of various MSR models to challenge the existing model as it relates to MSR fair valuation risk profiling, market risk metric calculation, and defining returns on investments (ROE, ROA, OAS). This position will develop tests and establish ongoing monitoring for MSR models including stress testing, sensitivity analysis, scenario testing, time series, and Monte Carlo simulations. Additionally this position will create and maintain documentation in alignment with Regulatory Standards (OCC 2011-12 & Fed’s SR11-7). Further assistance to model validation and counterparty analytics research, and modeling. Core Accountabilities: The core accountabilities involve researching various MSR modeling methods. The methods should be industry best in class and fully documented and supported by internal and external auditors. 1. Learn and understand the current SPM MSR Valuation Methods and reporting structure. 2. Utilize Busch valuation software to run the current valuation method, and demonstrate working knowledge of the current tools/methods. 3. Investigate/Develop a standard approach for evaluating alternative modeling approaches within an OAS Framework. a. Perform in depth testing work and statistical analysis, and include support needed in documentation in accordance with Regulatory standards. b. Report comparisons/ make recommendations to management, illustrating key risk metrics, valuations profiles, DVO1’s and other industry related information. 4. Help incorporate any changes to the Production MSR Valuation/Risk modeling model that is deemed worthy of inclusion.
6+ years recent, relevant and comprehensive MSR valuation knowledge and/or experience. A demonstrated experience building, running and managing various MSR Models and/or statistical models. Excellent computer and data management skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) Strong analytical and decision-making skills including demonstrated experience using data to make actionable recommendations
Advance degree in finance or equivalent certification (Master’s, CPA, CFA, etc.) Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering MSR Valuation experience specifically with stochastic and OAS models Experience using SQL query language or equivalent Understanding of statistical modeling and concepts Effective written and oral communication skills. Need to present results of financial analysis and be able to respond to challenges of work product by executive management Ability to maintain a professional presence and positive attitude in all situations Ability to balance and prioritize responsibilities to ensure all deadlines are met Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationship with peers
