JOB DESCRIPTIONHigh volume, transaction business that has tripled revenues over last seven years. Company has created multiple profit centers that continue to grow organically and will be establishing new profit centers that are centered on B2C markets. Culture is fast paced, empowering, and evolving. OPPORTUNITY: Lead financial role of a profitable business with over $200M in revenues and managing billions of dollars in transactions. Will lead and develop a team of ten. Biggest challenge is that company has grown too fast and processes need to be enhanced to support current business model and future expansion. So key functions and opportunities to contribute are as follows: Accounting Systems Evaluation: Need to review existing accounting processes, procedures, and systems to identify opportunities to improve accounting practices and timeliness of reporting, forecasting, and analysis. Establish and implement short-term and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Financial Reporting: lead the monthly closing process which will include development and management of financial and operational metrics and KPIs. Near term create a senior leadership scorecard. Develop flash reports. Ensure compliance reporting to 3rd parties. Financial Performance Analysis: Want to improve the analysis of performance to budget, YOY, and forecast. This will require getting behind the numbers to understand trends, one-offs, and changes in business model. Will break this down by key impact areas (e.g. B/S, income statement, P/L, margins). Accounting Management: High volume transactions. Need to ensure integrity and timeliness of data. Opportunity to improve processes and efficiencies. Team needs mentoring and development. Need to partner with HR on organization development, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Business Forecasting: Prepare short term forecasts (30-60-90 days) on cash, revenues, and expenses. Annual Budgeting: Lead the coordination and development of annual budget process Treasury & Taxes: Due to amount of transactions and movement of cash, monitor cash balances and movement. Will participate on insurance and financing needs. Will work directly with 3rd party investors. Will maintain familiarity with proposed changes to state, income, sales and use tax rules and regulations. Business Partnering: Looking for a business leader that can be a resource to total business.
CPA required. Seek 10+ years of total business experience with at least 3+ years in public accounting (more is better) before moved into a financial leadership role within a transactional business model (e.g. banking, casino, consumer products, eCommerce, investments, retail). Must have strong work ethic and be willing to invest time and energy to learn the business, enhance processes, and drive evolution. Must be willing to roll up your sleeves and work 50-55 hour weeks
