Division Controller, Lincoln, Nebraska, up to $120K (will relo) $250M privately held manufacturing company, 10 locations around US , Mexico, Canada and China Client will pay full relocation for this position since it is a critical position. They pay $10,000 for homeowners or $5,000 to renters to be used however he would want to spend it, i.e. for house hunting visits, meals, temporary lodging, etc. They also pay the moving costs of personal items up to 24,000 lbs. and Realtor closing costs for homeowners who have to sell their homes.
JOB DESCRIPTIONBasic Function: The Division Controller will serve as a business partner to the Division President in providing overall financial leadership for the Division. A key member of the leadership team and work closely with all functions to develop, plan and execute the financial goals, objectives and strategies. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, responsibilities include administering and interpreting company accounting policies and procedures for Systems in general accounting, cost accounting, forecasting, budgets, payroll, inventories, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit support. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining a process of accumulating, analyzing, interpreting and communicating financial information to be used to effectively manage Division resources.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, CPA and/or CMA preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing a computerized accounting and ERP/MRP system is required, 2 to 5 years of management experience is preferred. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices in order to direct all accounting functions, modify systems, and prepare financial reports. Knowledge of accounting as it applies to division operations in order to provide financial guidance, budget preparation and financial planning/forecasting. Essential Duties: The Division Controller will: •Take ownership of the finance and accounting function for the division. •Partner with Division President, Operations Management, and Corporate Finance to ensure proper levels of finance and accounting support for the Division and on various Division or Corporate initiatives. •Serve as an advisor to the Division President and/or CFO regarding short and long range financial matters and strategies relevant to the Division. •Work with Division and Corporate management to discuss financial results or policy/procedural problems; program management, sales with other business units; customers, vendors, and outside auditors. •Manage the division through a 5 day close process and take responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of balance sheet account reconciliations. •Direct the preparation, analysis and maintenance of Division accounting records, financial statements and reports per policy guidelines and Company procedures. •Participate in the establishment of Division Financial Objectives; coordinate other functional areas of the Division in the development of sales/production plans, expense and capital budgets. •Prepare and monitor operating budget and financial forecasts; report variances on a monthly basis and recommend improvement. •Direct procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services. This includes, but is not limited to Percentage of Completion accounting. •Recommend, develop and implement new accounting methods, cost control systems and cost reduction techniques. •Manage division payroll, accounts payable, credit/accounts receivable, general accounting and financial systems development.
