JOB DESCRIPTIONThe temperature today is 74 degrees, sunny, and low humidity. If you were there this weekend, you could play golf, rides horses, head for the beach or watch a Gators basketball game. Located close to Gainesville is an expanding consumer products company (over $150M in revenues) that is embracing change and evolution. The business is profitable but under the radar. New CEO wants to double revenues and has empowered leadership to be proactive, enhance the brand, and expand organically through new product innovation, new channels, and geographically. Center stage role. CFO is actively involved in a wide range of projects so looking to bring on a highly motivated Controller with business acumen, strong analytics, and process driven. Will touch all accounting functions with the accent on supporting sales and marketing with forecast, metrics, and business intelligence data to support short and long term strategies. Have 5 direct reports. Key functions will include: • Financial Reporting: lead all financial reporting which is segmented by division and brand • Budget & Forecasting: lead the annual budget process and short term rolling forecasts • FP&A: lead the financial and business analysis process; heaviest emphasis will be placed on sales and marketing to support new product introductions, trade marketing, and customer metrics. • Financial Compliance: Be responsible for financial controls and compliance; be liaison to Big 4 auditors • Process Improvements: Review and enhance accounting, analysis, forecasting, and reporting processes. • Cash Management: Analyze cash flow, cost controls and expenses to guide business leaders. • P/L Analysis: Review impact on brand profitability; be involved in business strategies (e.g. margin management)
CPA or MBA required. Seek 8+ years of business experience with the last 3+ years preferably in a consumer products manufacturer or distributor that sells to wide range of retailers. Ideal candidate will have meaningful examples that illustrate contributions to business growth and success. Candidates must have experience with a leading ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, JDE) and be proficient in Excel and business modeling.
Experience with brand, product or customer P/L; sales analysis; sales metrics; ROS; margin analysis; rebates; and cash forecasting is a big plus.
