JOB DESCRIPTIONSR. COST ACCOUNTANT JOB SUMMARY: Primarily concerned with the accurate and timely compiling of cost data relating to all inventories and cost of goods sold and the analysis thereof. REPORTS TO: Corporate Controller SUPERVISES: N/A ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Monitor all invoicing and costing transactions to ensure compliance with established Company procedures. *Review material & labor additions to and deletions from inventory. *Analyze inventory variances relating to raw material inventories, completed stock jobs and differences book to detail. *Compare cost of goods sold with sales revenue at period-end to determine consistency with prior period results; investigates differences. *Review for accuracy periodic, system journal entries involving material, labor & overhead cost and prepare corrections when required. *Maintain accountability for all costing reserves at period-end. *Prepare all customer cancellation charges and cancellation estimates. *Monitor all external inventory and cost of goods sold transactions and prepare financial statements in an accurate and timely manner. *Responsible for the preparation of periodic sales, inventory & labor reports. *Calculate inventory turnover rate for all inventory locations. *Participate in the performance of the annual, physical inventory & subsequent reconciliation of same. *Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules as required, working in cooperation with the outside auditors. *Prepare special reports/analysis at the direction of the Corporate Controller. REQUIREMENTS: *BS OR BA in accounting *3 to 5 years Cost accounting experience *ERP Systems experience *Possess the ability to effectively communicate with others, written and verbal *Oracle One World and/or Enterprise One experience a plus *Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
