This role combines finance, accounting and costing for a fast-growing division of the company. Hands on role that will lead to building a team as the division continues its growth


Role Overview The Senior Manager, Accounting role will assist senior management in developing and implementing world-class general accounting, costing, operational processes & procedures, financial reporting/monthly closes, and accounting systems for the division including international subsidiaries. Working in close collaboration with operations personnel and corporate procurement, this position’s responsibilities will include significant cost accounting, project accounting, budgeting, and management reporting responsibility. Reporting Relationship: The Senior Manager, Accounting will have a direct reporting relationship to Vice President, Corporate Controller whose experience spans 20 years and includes nine years in Public Accounting and eight years with a multi-billion grocery wholesaler. Role Overview ? Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in Oracle ? Responsible for recording and tracking of project costs including: ? accurate classification of project expenditures within Oracle Projects ? assist in the preparation of project management reports ? Responsible for proper tracking and costing of raw material and finished goods inventories ? Perform and /or oversee monthly financial statement close process, including: ? initiation, review and / or approval of journal entries ? prepare balance sheet reconciliations ? ensure intercompany billings and balance are accurate ? Prepare monthly financial statements including: ? balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements ? prepare supporting schedules for incorporation into consolidated financial statements for SEC filing requirements ? Prepares monthly management reporting package including supporting schedules and variance analysis ? Participates in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts ? Oversees disbursements activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expenses reports and cash control ? Oversees accounts receivable activities to ensure the accurate and timely execution of billing activities, including: ? accurate recording of revenue transactions in accordance with GAAP ? review and approve cash receipt applications ? Responsible for the preparation and coordination of schedules required by outside accountants who prepare the Company’s Canadian tax provision and applicable tax returns ? Responsible for the coordination and timely reporting and remittance of the Company’s Canadian property, business and sales and use taxes


It is critical that our successful candidate have the following: significant experience in project accounting/cost accounting, budgeting, general accounting through financial statements, and Operational exposure. We are looking for someone who has worked in a Manufacturing costing environment which has experienced growth (both organic and through acquisition). The Senior Manager, Accounting will possess excellent technical cost accounting skills and also preferably have strong ERP experience with Oracle. He/she will know how to analyze, measure, research, and build meaningful costing dashboards and metrics to help Corporate and Business Operations make better decisions. This role requires someone who is process driven with tremendous attention to detail, to deliver timely and 100% accurate financial reports. Seeking an individual who is highly effective in working with a diverse group of internal and external constituencies, and is adept in developing both people and relationships.
