Our client, a global investment bank, seeks a Senior Vice President, SEC Reporting to lead external reporting process to the highest standard of accuracy and dependability. In addition, the hired candidate will participate in firmwide initiatives to improve the reporting process through enhancements to the operating model and the control environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION• Reporting directly to the Head of SEC Reporting, participate in the completion and review of the firm’s financial reports including the Annual Report, 8-Ks, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 11-Ks, and other reports as needed. • Verify the firm’s compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements and collaborate with other reporting groups to facilitate completion of international reporting requirements. • Ensure adherence to firm standards and best practices for eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). • Review financial statements including benefit plans, broker-dealers and clearing entities and ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. • Monitor the preparation and review for disclosure checklists in anticipation of the annual external audit process. • Perform technical research to review changes in FASB, SEC, and international accounting standards for Accounting Guidance Committee. • Participate in the SEC Comment letter process. • Advise senior management, business stakeholders, and the external reporting group members about disclosure and reporting issues, especially concerning the GAAP and regulatory reporting issues
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 10+ years relevant experience in SEC reporting/ technical accounting including some experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm. • CPA required. • Strong expertise interpreting disclosure standards for financial instruments (i.e. derivatives, variable interest entities, and fair value measurement).
