JOB DESCRIPTION

Be responsible for the overall procurement of commodities and services through the development and implementation of procurement strategies and plans as well as the management of supplier relationship for the purchasing of materials, capital equipment, 3rd party services, and component parts for all profit centers. This will require partnering with engineering and planning to support large capital projects and operating plants. Key functions will include: • Initiate purchase orders in coordination with production and engineering. • Develop and implement company procurement strategy, policies and best practices. • Communicate with vendors to secure and analyze quotes. • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers. • Develop accurate forecasts of procurement needs. • Team on processes to maximize effectiveness of purchasing function and implement Six Sigma methodologies • Assist Capital Project Managers with material estimates and quotes. Evaluate PO cost overruns for capital projects. Support $40M+ in annual capital project activities. • Implement KPI’s to ensure adherence in achieving Company goals and objectives related to bid processes. • Evaluate suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness; determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management. • Monitor and analyze macro trends in supplier/contract base and implement plans to react. • Enhance and maintain effective working relationships with engineering, operations, planning, external contractors and vendors. • Utilize ERP system and modeling tools to track all Purchasing activity and create KPI measurements. • Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. • Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety. • Provide leadership to team of 2. QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree; seek 5+ years of buying/purchasing experience of materials, tooling and capital project activity gained in a construction or manufacturing company with 3+ years of supervisory experience or lead role required. Must have a strong foundation using computer software for purchasing and/or supply chain applications. Ideal would be experience with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or PeopleSoft. Must have a proven track record of performance in meeting key organizational objectives in the areas of cost savings, customer service, and quality performance. Experience with contract negotiation and contract maintenance to ensure that company objectives of intellectual property protection, continuous price improvement and shared risk/reward are achieved. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent negotiation skills.
