Job Description:
Report to GM of an expanding $70M engineering services subsidiary of a USA based corporation that has averaged over 20% annually growth since 2004. This is a multi-location, project driven business with SBU (Strategic Business Unit) headquarters in greater Houston area. Customers include Exxon, Shell, BP, IP, DuPont and others. Business is decentralized and project driven requiring technicians, engineers and other personnel to be at customer locations on short and long term project basis. Center stage role. Partner across all segments of the business and lead a team of six. Be supported by shared services and concentrate on supporting business development and existing customer base. Key functions are: • Financial Planning & Analysis…establish annual budget; develop short term forecasts; analyze variances to plan • Financial Reporting…lead monthly closing and development of key business metrics • General Accounting…ensure billing, collections, P/R, and A/P are current. • Time & Attendance…coordinate new software implementation to track projects. • Vendor Agreements…verify purchasing pricing and discounts • Risk Management….partner on contracts, workers compensation and commercial insurance coverage • Capital Expenditures… all capital expenditure requests • Business Development…analyze current business trends, pricing, and cost improvement opportunities • P/L by Key Customer…. Analyze monthly trends in revenue and costs by customer and by project • Capital Resource Planning…contribute on week planning of personnel and capital equipment per project • Process Improvement…looking to move more general accounting to shared services • Business Administration…communications to headquarters; coordinate training; maintain personnel records.
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: BS Accounting required; MBA or CPA A PLUS. Seek 7+ years of business experience with most recent in a decentralized B2B (e.g. manufacturing, technical service, distribution) with first choice being an engineering, quality, safety, environment testing, or drilling service business serving the oil & gas channel. Must have strong communications and leadership skills. Must be willing to travel to branches in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Must live within one hour commute of La Porte, Texas
