Job Description:
Lead the company's SALT Controversy functions as well as team on Income Tax Forecasting, Planning initiatives, and Special Projects. Management of state income, franchise, sales/use, and withholding (i.e., all state filings) audits. In overseeing the State and Local Tax Controversy function, the Director will manage numerous resources in guaranteeing the timely and accurate responses to Information Document Requests. Act as a tax advisor to the tax group, business unit personnel, and finance personal. Plan, implement and assess risk profile of state and local tax positions. Review and respond to Notices of Proposed Adjustments. Manage gathering the facts through interaction with other departments, research tax issues and draft taxpayer¿s response. Recommend appropriate strategies in anticipation of appeals conference(s). Independently analyze financial statements, general ledgers, tax returns and tax return workpapers to prepare audit ready files. Includes a general understanding of permanent and temporary differences, apportionment, effective tax rate, ASC 740-10 and ASC 450. The Director will also be responsible for identifying and teaming with the other tax areas to implement corporate tax accounting and compliance efficiencies and process improvements, as well as and documenting current/new processes and procedures.
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 10 years relevant tax experience CPA required Strong executive presence State and Local Tax Audit experience a plus
