JOB DESCRIPTIONReporting to the SVP and head of all Lending, the VP of Consumer Lending leads and directs client’s $700M retail and wholesale consumer lending business, including secured and unsecured loans and lines, and credit cards. Loans include direct and indirect auto, RV, airplane, standard and specialized personal loans, and student loans. The incumbent is accountable for the entire line-of-business strategy and operations, including underwriting and credit administration, marketing, pricing, processing and funding, and portfolio servicing. The incumbent will collaborate with executive leadership, product managers, marketing, financial planning & analysis, ALM, credit risk, information technology, and channel management to define consumer lending operations model, set product mix, and design/deliver a distinctive service experience. The position requires sound and proven leadership abilities, effective written and verbal communication skills, strong and demonstrable analytical abilities, advanced technology systems skills, strong relationship skills and being political savvy. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to collaborate well with all levels of the organization, and effective operations management capability.
Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, operations management or related field required, with a graduate-level degree strongly preferred. A very minimum of 10 years of direct consumer lending experience are required, to include at least five years leading and directing other consumer lending professionals. The hired individual must have management experience in direct or indirect auto lending, and prior experience with indirect POS lending and credit card programs, and with remote and online lending channels, are strongly preferred. It is mandatory that candidates have managed consumer lending activities at least in the range of $400-$500M. this is not a position for a branch manager of retail bank or consumer finance company
