Our client is a prominent, stable, public bank with a heavy focus on business banking and commercial real estate lending. This role will run a sizable appraisal review team and will serve as a key executive in the bank's real estate lending operations.
JOB DESCRIPTIONThis position: Manages the Appraisal Department to ensure that all work is completed in an accurate, professional, timely and cost effective manner. Establishes departmental goals, prepares annual budget projections and monitors and controls departmental expenses. Maintains and implements procedures to ensure that all Appraisal policies, processes and valuation documents are prepared in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory standards.
- Valid appraiser’s General Certification license - Minimum of 15 years of full-time real estate appraisal experience with at least 10 years’ experience reviewing commercial appraisal reports required. - Minimum of 10 years of management experience in a multi-discipline Appraisal department. - Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate or Business required. - Excellent working knowledge of all appraisal and environmental regulatory issues concerning banking. - Successful completion of multiple advanced appraisal courses. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Demonstrated professional experience in preparation and presenting information effectively, clearly, and concisely, in written and spoken form to a wide-range of internal and external constituencies, including executives, officers, product or service employees and clients. - Excellent administrative and analytical skills. - Strong computer skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with RIMS Appraisal Systems strongly preferred. Knowledge of Argus (cash-flow spreadsheet software) is preferred. - Strong, proven organizational and leadership skills and the ability to establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, promote excellent staff morale and manage a cost-effective department.
MAI certification is preferred.
