Global insurance leader seeks an Assistant Director of Accounting to lead reporting and legal entity control matters for large business units and participate in external reporting process for the corporate close. Company seeks experience Financial Reporting talent with a foundation in the big 4, with demonstrated experience leading financial reporting processes at a large Insurance or Financial Services institution.
• Assume responsibility over US GAAP, STAAT Compliance, and Federal Government financial reporting. • Manage the monthly / quarterly / annual financial US close processes. • Perform financial close under U.S. GAAP guidelines. • Manager General Ledger and consolidations in accordance company’s SAP framework. • Perform technical accounting research to resolve and complete complex financial disclosures. • Liaise with various departments within the organization across finance, operations, IT and others to complete and/or resolve operational or reporting issues. • Coordinate with internal and external auditors throughout annual audit process. • Provide senior management with monthly and quarterly updates on accounting and financial reporting matters.
Qualifications: • Bachelors in Accounting with 7-10+ years experience in an accounting/reporting or audit function. • CPA, MBA and big 4 public accounting experience highly sought. • Insurance industry experience a plus, exposure to Financial Services industry required • Strong understanding of General ledger and consolidations processes • Capable leadership ability with demonstrated experience leading teams of 6-10+ employees.
