Job Description:
The Controller will be responsible for a wide-range of activities, including preparation of monthly financial statements, establishment of the company’s accounting and finance infrastructure and a variety of financial analyses and special projects. The Controller will partner with the CFO to analyze the company’s financial results, develop financial projections and provide assistance with due diligence. This opportunity has tremendous upside and will grow with the growth of the company. The successful candidate will be results driven and highly analytical/detailed, have strong business acumen, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while being a strong team player. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Develop accounting and reporting procedures including daily reconciliations, monthly hard closes, and establishing and rolling forward accruals and reserves. - Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with U.S. GAAP - Select and implement a new General Ledger system - Integrate newly acquired entities into the Company and manage intercompany accounting - Lead internal and external reporting requirements - Manage annual audit, including drafting of financial statements and related footnotes - Manage various U.S. statutory tax requirements - Assist CFO and head of FP&A in analyzing financial results and understanding variances from budgets and forecasts - Prepare special reports and assist in developing financial dashboards - Maintain and oversee accounting systems and develop / manage direct reports - Assist in the selection and implementation of a general ledger system - Establish and manage payroll processes, working with a 3rd party payroll service provider - Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: Qualifications: - Minimum 8 years related experience, gained through a combination of public accounting and private industry experience. - B.A. in Accounting, Finance or Economics from a 4-year college or university required - Certified Public Accountant required - Thorough knowledge of the latest accounting and financial software, management systems and payroll procedures - Middle-market or start-up company experience is preferred, with a proven track record of adding value to companies and executive team
Preferred Qualifications: - Comfortable with complex intercompany structures and intercompany accounting - Knowledge and experience with Banking and Treasury Management systems - Ability to carry out assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner - Must be a working manager, capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle pressure well, while being self-motivated and detail-oriented - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards - Prior accounting experience in healthcare is desired - Prior experience with system implementations, upgrades, or conversions is preferred
