Stable, successful Bank is seeking a Business Development officer to handle all aspects of SBA government loans,, including initiation, negotiation, selling and packaging as well as cross-selling business products and developing new business relationships. Position is based in Los Angeles and reports to Lending Manager for the group.
Job Description:
• Source SBA-Government lending loans within assigned territory by soliciting new business relationships • Interview new and existing loan applicants to determine business needs, abilities and earnings and assess level of acceptable risk • Assemble loan packages and handle loan closings • Cross-sell business products to existing customers and prospect business customers through an organized calling program • Generate qualified referrals, including consumer business, to branches within assigned territory • Actively participate in external community activities in order to promote Bank and to develop business referral network • Interact effectively with Business Banking Center to efficiently process loan applications • Work with appropriate Business Banking Relationship Managers and /or Branches seamlessly hand off future relationship management
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: • Thorough understanding of both SBA- government type business loans and Bank’s products and services • Basic understanding of Small Business Lending, including familiarity with the interpretation of business financial statements • Strong sales, service and organizational skills • Ability to close sales • Ability to recognize customer needs and match them to bank products • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
