JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an experienced CPA to fill a very important role on our team supporting our advocacy efforts on issues specific to CPA tax practitioners and delivering resources that continue to elevate the quality of CPA tax practices across the Profession. The Technical Manager – Taxation position is a member of the organization Tax Division whose mission is to serve the public interest by assisting members to be the most trusted professional providers of tax services, and by advocating sound tax policy and effective administrative. The Technical Manager will be primarily responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating technical and professional practice issues for two assigned technical areas (for example, S corporations, partnerships or the taxation of exempt organizations) of the AICPA Tax Section. Key responsibilities of the position include: • Serving as staff liaison for two assigned committees, • Monitoring changes to Treasury regulations, IRS administrative pronouncements, and proposed federal tax legislation, • Developing and maintaining contacts, both internal and external, to remain informed of emerging issues, • Recommending and administering action items (both advocacy-related and practice-oriented) in coordination with committees, task forces, working groups or other staff, and
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Masters in Taxation • CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA or professional services firm • Strong knowledge of federal tax law • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills • Knowledge of tax legislative and regulatory processes • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
