We are working with a company to identify a Controller to assist the Vice President, Finance in directing and controlling the company’s accounting policies, practices and financial reporting; training and development of corporate and financial and accounting personnel; and appraisal of operating results in terms of budgets and trends. This position is responsible for bringing together all of the general ledgers to arrive at the overall corporate view and has direct supervisory responsibility for the corporate general accounting staff. The position requires a highly motivated individual with a proven background in Corporate Accounting and Consolidation. The position also requires a fundamental knowledge and experience with general accounting, month end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, accounting policy/concepts, controls, analytics and working with external auditors. 8+ years of professional experience in either public accounting and/or a publicly-owned manufacturing company in progressively more challenging positions, some of which encompasses the management of staff. Strong technical accounting, financial and analytic skills and the ability to make sound business decisions. Cost accounting experience would be a plus. Strong PC skills: Mastery of Excel. Very precise and accurate working style; attention to detail. Superior written and oral communication skills. Capable of working as a team player, as a working manager and comfortable being part of a “hands on” team of professionals. The company offers competitive compensation and benefits. |
