Stable, established Francisco-based bank is seeking an SEC Reporting Analyst to support the preparation and filing of timely, accurate and compliant SEC reports (10Qs, 10Ks, and 8Ks) and Earnings Release. Role also involves participation in development and interpretation of financial accounting policies as related to SEC requirements as well as analysis and technical interpretation of accounting changes. This position will also research and monitor financial data, working directly with other business units to ensure reported data integrity. Position reports to the SEC Reporting Manager.


• Prepare sections of 10Qs, 10Ks, and Earnings Releases, including analyzing variances, researching issues related to data integrity, and documenting procedures as well as recommending procedural changes to address issues and ensure accurate reporting; produce clear and organized workpapers to adequately support SEC filings and internal/external audit process • Work with SEC Managers and Senior Analysts to provide assistance and training on financial reporting issues to all levels and areas of the Bank, ensuring that financial reporting requirements are clearly communicated to the business units providing source data for reports; coordinate with other reporting groups, including regulatory and managerial reporting, to ensure consistent reporting of information • Respond to internal inquiries regarding financial disclosures reported or filed • Participate in the implementation of accounting policy changes and determination of treatment of new financial products by preparing impact analyses and coordinating the dissemination of information and procedures to impacted business partners; work with reporting team and impacted business partners to clarify financial reporting requirements and test new data provided • Assist SEC Manager and Sr. Analysts in providing professional technical guidance to business partners with respect to interpretation and analysis of accounting policy/US GAAP changes; maintain current knowledge of ongoing external trends in the financial accounting area • Perform other projects or duties as assigned


• Minimum 4-5 years related experience; experience in auditing publicly held companies and/or exposure to SEC reporting process preferred • Accounting or finance degree; CPA or Chartered Accountant certification strongly preferred • Strong, current understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations • Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in data analysis • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills • Solid ability to manage multiple priorities • Strong capability of working both collaboratively and independently to meet tight filing deadlines • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team • Banking industry experience a plus • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products - Word, Excel (intermediate to advanced) and PowerPoint

Big 4 CPA with banking industry experience
