JOB DESCRIPTION

$170M global division is ahead of plan for 2012. Located near I76/I77 intersection, this expanding SBU has been a blend of dispersed and centralized accounting functions. In preparation of an ambitious expansion plan, client wants to establish a financial shared service function in Akron and is looking for a hands-on manager to contribute on strategy and be empowered to lead change, improve business processes, manage a team of 8-10, and create a best practices share services setting. High visibility role. Be viewed as a business partner and resource. Will manage all credit & collections, billing, A/R, and A/P to start. CFO is looking for a promotable talent with strong upside potential. Key challenges and goals are as follows: • Majority of credit and collection functions are remote. DSOs are heading in the wrong direction because collections has been historically the responsibility of sales; lot of policy and process change. Need to review everything from credit approval and authorization to collections and centralizing total credit function. • A/R-Billing has been 85% automated; want to identify additional opportunities to improve efficiencies and provide cost savings • Need to in-house A/P function • Will need to partner with seasoned sales force to take over better control of pricing, rebates, credit, billing, and collection practices • Partner with CFO to drive T&E and other functions to shared services.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS Accounting; MBA, CPA or CCM is a plus. Seek 4+ years of accounting/finance management experience that includes strong supervision of credit, collections, and billings function that support a decentralized B2B manufacturing or distribution model. Must have worked with an ERP solution (e.g. JDE, Oracle, SAP).
