JOB DESCRIPTIONCommercial Lender: You will be responsible for commercial lending, credit quality, new business development, portfolio maintenance and relationship management. This is a complete professional banking position requiring credit skills, broad range of industry knowledge, understanding how to structure debt to mitigate risk, overall product knowledge to help your clients and cross sell banking products. Calling activity will focus on Prince William County, Northern Virginia and The Washington, DC Area. Target high quality, C&I loan opportunities in the $1,000,000 to $10,000,000 size or larger. All industries including Government Contractors, Medical Groups and Not-For-Profit Groups. This a high visibility position that drives the client relationship. This person will play an active role in the community representing the bank at social, business and professional functions to promote the image of the bank and develop third party referral sources. The credit culture is conservative but offers creative loan structure and competitive pricing to win the business. You will be making sales calls, building third party referral sources and working with other bank employees on joint calls to prospects and existing bank customers. The position has high visibility, upward mobility and is located in an affluent market. Primary Responsibilities • Develop new commercial loans and underwrite the credit quality of these loan requests. • Lead the commercial lending and business development effort for this market. • Maintain credit quality and portfolio maintenance. • Develop and maintain business and professional client relationships. • Develop and nurture third party referral sources.
• Successful track record of developing new commercial loan business • Formal credit training or equivalent experience. • Knowledgeable in a broad range of businesses, industries and professional groups. • Understanding how to use loan structure to mitigate risk. • Proven ability to develop and nurture external and internal referral sources. • Have existing professional contacts in the Greater Washington, DC and Northern VA Area.
