Job Title: Vice President Commercial Loan Officer Reports To: Exec. Vice President Division: Commercial Loans FLSA Status: Exempt Duties & Responsibilities Following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job as well as an approximation of the amount of time spent performing each task group. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. Farmers State Bank maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion. Customer Relations & Business Development • Identifies, pursues, and develops potential commercial customers in order to build a high quality loan portfolio • Explains, sells, and administers commercial banking products by drawing on acquired product knowledge and exhibiting strong communication skills • Displays knowledge and proficiency in explaining and selling the bank’s products. • Recognizes sales opportunities and refers customers to appropriate system-wide resources Tasks & Productivity • Establishes commercial customer’s risk level by researching bank relationships, determining collateral values and analyzes all data compiled to ensure quality loans are approved • Approves, originates, and administers commercial loans up to individual credit limit. • Prepares and presents in information at meetings in a clear, accurate, and confident manner. Teamwork & Cross Training • Makes efforts to seek others’ input. • Collaborates and cooperates with other in the organization. • Develops effective working relationships with key associates • Plays an active role in community affairs and organizations while projecting a positive image of the bank and demonstrating the bank’s commitment to the community Job Knowledge & Professional Development • Possesses overall knowledge of procedures and policies • Maintains professional and technical knowledge in all job-related areas by participating in training, attending classes, and reviewing related publications. • Gains the respect and confidence of ownership to grow a quality business portfolio while working within a conservative credit philosophy. Required field of expertise: Commercial Lending Other experience required: Must have knowledge of all bank products Technical Requirements: Must possess the knowledge and ability to operate (equipment listed) in a timely and accurate manner. Equipment: Computer, typewriter, photocopy machine, 10-key Software: Excel, Loan Publisher, ITI, Word Mental & Physical Requirements: Mental Requirements: Employee must be able to solve practical problems with a variety of variables with limited standardizations; and interpret instructions. Physical Requirements: This position normally consists of light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, use of arm and leg controls, and worker sits most of the time. The normal, day to day duties will require the following abilities; hearing, talking, fingering, walking. While installing computer systems or trouble shooting network cabling problems, the worker will have to on occasion, be able to perform any of the following; climbing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, crawling, crouching, feeling, standing, reaching, pushing, lifting, grasping. The visual requirements of the position are as follows: Administrative, Clerical, Data Entry Operations, Inspection (work at distances close to eyes). Good vision is required to work with printed and computer screen information. Fluent English language communication skills (both verbal and written) needed to effectively handle interpersonal/customer service relationships. Working Conditions: This position has no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Other: Position requires occasional travel. Must have ability to operate in a team environment, show flexibility and be adaptable to a changing environment. Must also have ability to work independently with little direction and to identify and develop a significant amount of new business relationships.
