JOB DESCRIPTIONSUMMARY: Responsible for internal and external reporting of the work flow and tax results relating to the annual processing and review of over 6,500 federal and state partnership tax returns. Ensure that tax accounting entries are recorded and maintained appropriately in accordance with accounting principles and policies. This position will report to the Director of Tax. FUNCTIONS: 1. Prepares and compiles quarterly and annual reports for the Corporate Tax Department 2. Prepares weekly and monthly status reports of the partnership returns under review 3. Prepares and reviews monthly tax accounting entries and performs reconciliations of the tax accounts 4. Conducts research relating to federal and state partnership tax principles 5. Assists with the annual and ongoing testing of our internal data base. Ensures data is being pulled from the tax returns correctly and that capital account roll -forward and other calculations are being performed as designed 6. Responds to inquiries regarding tax accounting policies, procedures and issues and opportunities from internal management, general partners, CPA firms and regulatory authorities
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required, with an emphasis in Tax preferred - Three to Five or more years of experience in multi-state corporate and partnership taxation
- Excellent tax accounting, mathematical, and analytical skills - Proven ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data - Proven track record of maintaining effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment - Advanced excel skills and reporting capabilities - CPA preferred
