Job Description:
• Review, prepare and input accrual, standard, recurring, reclassification and other journal entries into General Ledger • Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all journal entries as per company policy • Provides information to the accounting manager to support any entries that are to be made for asset capitalization, write offs, accruals, accrual reversals or other activities, which would require judgment • Assist in the preparation of the balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position • Assist the accounting manager in ensuring proper consolidation of subsidiary financial statements, including treatment of inter-company accounts, translation of financial statements preparation and documentation of all supporting schedules for record keeping, variance analysis, and external audit purposes • Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis and assist in the preparation of cash forecasts • Support accounting manager in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasting/cash flow activities • Prepare other monthly GL account reconciliation and analysis including: Cash, Advances to Affiliates, Prepaid Expenses, Deposits, Accrued Expenses, Investments, Capital Leases, Members Equity, Inter-company balances • Provide and review payroll and benefit information sent to 3rd parties for processing • Prepare disbursements with supporting invoices and account coding • Provide direct support with any GL inquiries or support data requests within position scope • Assist accounting manager in the review of reconciliations and other reports prepared by subsidiaries • Assist accounting manager in the compilation of information for the Company’s annual tax • Assist accounting manager with the external financial audit including preparing supporting schedules, compiling documentation, responding to questions/other requests • Adhere to controls and processes and assists accounting manager in the documentation, implementation and monitoring of company internal control procedures and policies • Special projects, as required
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA designation preferred (or equivalent) • Three to five years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area with public accounting service of at least two years; Experience working in a professional services firm preferred • Strong understanding of US GAAP
 
Preferred Qualifications: • Working knowledge of IFRS desired • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Experience using G/L systems such as J.D. Edwards, Microsoft Dynamix, Oracle, and Quickbooks • Excellent communication and presentation (written and oral), analytic and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines • Highly detail oriented and organized in work • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results • Experience in the energy or investment industry desired • Fluent in Spanish, desired • Strong analytical and planning/project management skills with vision beyond the task at hand • A team player that can effectively work towards both personal and organizational goals • Ability to develop mutually beneficial, positive relationships within and between the head office and subsidiaries personnel that lead to cooperation and collaboration
