JOB DESCRIPTIONLeading the external sales effort in the community through personal involvement in generating client contacts, identifying customer needs and proposing appropriate services and products. Over 70% of daily activities include external client business development. Target, develop, manage and sustain banking relationships with affluent clients in the professional services niche (CPAs, attorneys, doctors, entrepreneurs, etc). Responsibilities include providing exceptional personal service to the client including depository and commercial lending/banking services, credit and mortgage products, etc. Relationship management includes customer service, retention, proactive client contact and all aspects of service as financial advisor to the client. Cultivate relationships with external centers of influence, such as estate planning attorneys, tax-planning accountants, attorneys, etc. Developing and achieving annual sales plans in concert with bank leadership. The Private Banker is expected to complete continuing education and professional development courses, leadership development and product and service training to ensure skills are maintained and strengthened.
Previous sales experience in the Banking / Financial Services industry required. Previous affluent client and commercial lending experience preferred. Broad knowledge of the fundamental concepts of lending, deposit gathering, investing, estate planning and asset protection. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be extremely service-oriented and possess the ability to advise and consult with the client. Requires sound follow-through, problem-solving, prospecting and negotiation skills. Qualified candidates must have proven success in the following areas; demonstrating results, exceeding client expectations, adaptability, team player and strong relationship builder, reliability and highly motivated. Proven relationship management and sales skills and excellent client service skills. Experience using PC with a focus on Microsoft Office Applications. Requires a minimum of six years experience in the area of Private Banking or commercial lending. Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
